And what about switching to Friendica?
... I would like to know what you don't like in Friendica, Pistos :)
● Friendica doesn't appeal to me as a user. (I can acknowledge that appeals to others.)
● Friendica doesn't appeal to me as a developer. (I can acknowledge that it might appeal to other developers.)
● All other things being considered equal, if I were given my choice of language to build something with, PHP wouldn't be it. I have read Mike's reasons for choosing PHP for Friendica, and that is fine for him and for Friendica. I have no objection to others using this language.
● I like using IRC for inter-developer dialogue.
It's kind of like cars and people. Just because I don't drive a Volvo, doesn't mean Volvo cars are bad. My disinterest in Friendica shouldn't be taken as a severely negative judgement of Friendica.
(I still don't get Libertree, incidentally, but if and when somebody gets it working, we'll support that immediately).
It's kind of like a community blog, where everybody has posting rights, or something. No PMs, no contacts list, and your profile is very sparse.Hopefully ~F will eventually connect to whatever Libertree becomes. I'm rather curious to see what Pistos can come up with, considering his history & all. I imagine his particular style of 'federated socnet kung fu' oughta be interesting.

We are the Borg. You will be assimilated. Your biological and technological distinctiveness will be added to our own. Resistance is futile.
And please may you give me a hint how I can contact that girl in Alpha Centauri over there.
